The Court of First Instance handed down a one-month sentence on Wednesday, October 27, to a man for assaulting a woman, resisting arrest, damaging a police car, and threating two police officers.

The man previously received a three-month conditional sentence in November 2020 for assaulting the same woman. Due to his repeat offence against her and his actions against the police, the judge in the Court of First Instance made one of those three conditional months into actual prison time and his probationary period for other two months was extended by one year. That means if he were to reoffend  during his probation, he will also have to sit the two now conditional months in prison.
